Ryan is very excited about TCM treatments and is currently trying to raise the funds necessary for the treatments and the trip to China through China Connection Global Healthcare . He is determined to overcome the crippling remnants left by the bacterium that stuck him down -- and you can help.

Currently Ryan:
•	cannot walk unassisted and depends on a motorized wheelchair to get around, which has a history of getting stuck or not working due to the Iowa cold winters.
•	has blurry & double vision plus nystagmus, an involuntary eye movement. Because of these, he has to be within inches of papers & computer screens in order to read them.
•	is unable to speak clearly, which causes him to be treated with disrespect by those who cannot understand him.
•	has severely hampered writing skills, which is hard to decipher.
•	cannot effectively use a keyboard, which limits his ability to do assignments and keep in contact with others.

Ryan is very optomistic & believes that, upon his return from China, he'll be able to walk off the plane unassisted, just as others have done who have had this treatment. He also believes that he'll be able to take tests without help from others and that most of his vision & speech will return to normal.
